The Harsh Reality

The pet overpopulation epidemic is so staggering, that for every animal born in the United States to have a home, each and every human being would have to own 6 dogs and 9 cats.  So a family of four..2 parents and 2 small children would have to own 24 dogs and 36 cats

It costs US tax-payers an estimated 2 billion dollars each year to round up, shelter, kill and dispose of homeless animals.

Provided By the Humane Alliance www.HumaneAlliance.org

Two uncontrolled breeding cats - plus all their kittens and all their kitten's kittens, if none are ever spayed or neutered add up to 420,000 in 7 years.

PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS!

The Best Friends Humane Society is a private organization that has achieved tax-exempt, non-profit status. Our program is supported entirely by fundraising and the generosity of individuals who share our concern for homeless animals.

Incorporated in May of 2007, we are the first humane organization in Worth County. The Best Friends Humane Society has recently completed the requirements necessary to become licensed through the Georgia Department of Agriculture.  Construction plans have yet to be completed, but we have a location for our future animal shelter.  Plans are underway to locate our faciltiy on Ephesus Church Road. Until such time that we are able to begin operating from our new facility, we are diligently making plans to do what we can for the unwanted animals in Worth County until we can actively take part in our mission.  How can you help?  Please, click on the link ' BFHS Foster Program'.
